I also have a copy of “Treasure Island” (1934) because that is what I watched as a kid and thought of it as a classic. But Wallace Beery is of a different acting era than Heston; yet he is good in his way for the time. He has a way of looking at you. He is also much better then the Bobby Driscoll version of (1950.) Actually "Muppets Treasure Island" is better then the Bobby Driscoll version.
This film should be a part of you permanent library. It has lots of energy.

Love on the Dial

カントリーソウルのトップバンドとして期待されていたHacienda Brothersだが、フロントのひとりChrisが亡くなってしまいファンとしては大きな痛手となってしまった。
その後もChris抜きでツアーを行っていたようだが、Dave GonzalesがHollistersのフロントMike Barfieldと組んでこのファーストが発表された。
今までのちょいメキシコの色が入ったカントリーソウル系もあるが、もう一方ではロカビリー、ファンクも強くなっており、この辺りは評価が分かれそうな気もする。
しかし、ルーツの良い部分だけを濃くしたようなカントリーファンクで、粘っこくタイトにプレイされたサウンドは非常に魅力的。
ペダルスティールやアコギ、オルガン、ベース、ドラムで作られるグルーヴはめちゃくちゃ渋かっこ良く、とにかく上手い。
地味だけど一流の面子が揃った一流のカントリー。
